How to merge PDF files
- Add your PDFs. Drag two or more PDF files into the box, or tap Choose PDFs. Each one shows its first page and page count.
- Set the order. Drag the files, or use the arrows, so they're in the order you want them in the final document.
- Merge and download. Click Merge PDF. The combined file downloads straight away.
Your documents stay private
Bank statements, contracts, tax forms, medical records – the PDFs people merge are often the most sensitive files they have. Most online PDF tools upload them to a server. ConvertKettle merges them inside your browser, so they never leave your computer or phone.
Exactly the same pages
Pages are copied into the new file as they are. Text stays sharp, selectable and searchable, images aren't re-compressed, and links on the pages keep working. Bookmarks and fillable form fields from the original files may not carry over.
Need to add photos or scans? Turn them into a PDF with JPG to PDF first. To get images out of a PDF, use PDF to JPG.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to merge confidential PDFs here?
Yes. Your PDFs are combined inside your own browser and are never uploaded to any server.
Is there a limit on the number of PDFs?
No fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory, but dozens of normal PDFs merge without trouble.
Will the merged PDF lose quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays sharp and searchable and images aren't re-compressed.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not at the moment. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then merge.
Can I add images to the merged PDF?
Convert the images with JPG to PDF first, then merge that PDF with your other files.
When merging PDFs saves time
- Tax season: put W-2s, 1099s, receipts and statements into one file for your accountant or tax software.
- Rental and mortgage applications: landlords and lenders usually want pay stubs, bank statements and ID in a single upload.
- Job applications: combine your cover letter, resume and references into one tidy PDF.
- School and college: submit several scanned assignment pages or transcripts as one document.
- Insurance and medical claims: keep forms, bills and records together in the right order.
Tips for a well-organized PDF
- Name files with numbers such as
01-cover-letter.pdf,02-resume.pdfbefore adding them – they'll be easier to put in order. - Check page counts under each preview to make sure nothing is missing.
- Convert photos first. Have pictures of documents? Turn them into a PDF with JPG to PDF, then merge.
- Mind upload limits. Many portals cap uploads at 5–25 MB. If the merged file is too big, run it through Compress PDF.
Does merging change my documents?
No. Every page is copied over exactly – text, images, signatures and links stay the same. The original files on your device aren't touched.
Merging confidential documents safely
Tax forms, bank statements and medical records contain information like Social Security numbers that shouldn't be uploaded to a stranger's server. Because ConvertKettle combines files inside your browser, they never leave your computer – which makes it a safer choice for sensitive paperwork than tools that upload your files.
