Many apps and websites can show pictures but not PDFs. Converting pages to JPG lets you:

JPG or PNG for PDF pages?

JPG gives much smaller files and is perfect for pages with photos. PNG keeps text and thin lines perfectly crisp, which is better for forms, spreadsheets and diagrams – at the cost of larger files. If you're not sure, start with JPG at Medium; switch to PNG if text looks fuzzy when you zoom in.

Getting sharper text

If small print looks blurry, choose High · 300 DPI. A US Letter page at 300 DPI becomes about 2550 × 3300 pixels – enough to zoom in or print at full size. For sharing on screen, 150 DPI is usually plenty and keeps files small.

Converting only some pages

Choose Pages… and type the pages you need. Separate pages with commas and use a dash for ranges: 1, 3-5, 10- converts page 1, pages 3 to 5, and page 10 to the end.
